EDUCATION

Introducing new staff @ SCSC
I am currently in an Education Support position as classroom support at SCSC.
Before starting at SCSC, I worked for Cadbury as a merchandiser.
I am most looking forward to being able to support the students to help them reach their goals at SCSC no matter what they are.
Millie Whitelaw
I am excited to be joining the Maths and Science team in 2026.
Before joining SCSC I taught at Elwood College in Melbourne, where I taught Maths and Physics.
I’m looking forward to bringing my passion for STEM to Surf Coast Secondary College through sparking curiosity in the Science and Maths classroom. I also look forward to embracing the coastal lifestyle through all the incredible activities and adventures the SCSC community offers.
Sam Parsons
I am teaching 8,9,10 English and year 12 media!
Before I was a teacher, I worked in education support and worked at my local cinema as an usher, but before coming to SCSC, I had been working at Bairnsdale Secondary College as an English and Drama teacher.
I am looking forward to becoming part of the SCSC community and working alongside some great staff and students. Everything/everyone has already been so amazing!!
Caitlyn Sharp
I am currently teaching VCE English and Junior English/Humanities at SCSC.
Before commencing at SCSC, I previously worked for several years in Melbourne. There I worked in Year Level Coordination and Learning Team roles where I primarily taught Year 11 and 12 English and Vocational Major (VM) Literacy. Prior to my teaching career, I was a Woolworths boy responsible for stacking shelves and endeavouring to keep the milk fridge full for customers!
Having just recently moved to the area with my partner, I am looking forward to settling into the local community and getting to know all stakeholders at SCSC. The connection with staff and students I have made thus far are a great indication for the year ahead!
Lachie Curnow
I am currently teaching Year 11 Chemistry and Year 7 Science and Maths.
Before starting at SCSC, I worked in Melbourne at McKinnon Secondary College as a Science teacher.
I am looking forward to have an amazing year at SCSC with lovely kind and caring kids as well as working alongside staff that show genuine care for student learning!
Tamlin Dobrich
I am a Maths teacher, and this year I am teaching Year 7-9. I am however, also qualified to teach Health & PE!
Before moving to SCSC, I taught at Bacchus Marsh College. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as a barista, gymnastics coach, and on the checkouts at Coles!
I’m most looking forward to getting to know and work with the students, making new friends with colleagues, and just in general becoming part of the community!
Madyson Lang
I teach mostly Maths as well as Science, currently teaching Year 8s, 9s, and 10s here at Surf Coast!
This is my first teaching role! Prior to this position, I have been travelling whilst completing my degree.
After completing a placement at SCSC, I found the students a joy to be around and to teach, so I am excited to build connections with them and help them grow in their learning journey! This school also has a warm and collaborative nature, making the workspace a great environment to be a part of. (Also, hoping that the students can pay it forward and give me some tips to get better at surfing!)

Creative Club @ Lunchtime
Hi Creators!
Creative Club will be running every Tuesday at Lunchtime in LCW1.
Students can come to write, draw or create in a quiet and productive space. Bring a notebook, visual diary or device to work on your own creations. You can also bring any writing based school work or homework that you would like feedback on, or assistance with.
Miss Damen :)
Lunchtime Activities
The following events will be run each week in the library at lunchtime only:
* Trivia - Please bring your lunch (the only time you can eat in the library), bring a group or join a group or play on your own, there is a leader board and prizes at the end of each term for the winning team. The library is closed to everyone not playing trivia on that day.
Please keep an eye on the posters on the library door as that will tell you if something has been cancelled or if the library is closed.
Come see Carly in the library if you have any questions.
