Meet the Author – Year 5 Writers Shine

Our Year 5 students recently hosted a Meet the Author session to proudly share the books they have written for next year’s Prep students. Classes from Prep to Year 4 visited the “authors,” enjoyed shared readings of the stories, and left thoughtful feedback about their favourite books. It was a wonderful opportunity for our younger students to engage with authentic writing and for our Year 5s to see the impact of their work on a real audience. All books written by our Year 5 authors will be available to borrow from the school library in 2026. What a lovely way to celebrate creativity, confidence and a love of writing across our school community.

Year 5/6 Market Day

Our 5/6 Market Day was a wonderful celebration of creativity, collaboration and real-world learning!

Students had so much fun using their tokens to purchase products and take part in the exciting activities run by our young entrepreneurs.  Through designing and managing their stalls, they developed research, teamwork and presentation skills - while also working towards a meaningful goal.  This year, they voted to donate all funds raised to support the development of an inclusive playground at Old Orchard.

We are incredibly proud of their initiative, empathy and commitment to our school value of Respect for Others.

Colour Run

Monday’s Colour Run was a huge success, raising an amazing $2,064.00 for the Flicker of Hope Foundation. Students had an absolute ball tackling the various obstacles and loved being hosed down with water by the fire truck! A big thank you to our SRC for organising this very special fundraising event and to our community for their wonderful support.

Giving Tree

Thank you to our wonderful school community for the incredible generosity shown through our Christmas Giving Tree. Thanks to your thoughtful donations, we were able to spread kindness and joy to families in need during the festive season. Your support truly reflects the caring spirit of our community, and we are grateful to everyone who contributed to making a difference this Christmas. 🎄💛
