BER Breakout room for OTs and Speechies

From the start of next week, Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists will be using the breakout room located between Julian and Stefan’s classrooms to work with some of our students.

A timetable has been created for therapists to book the days and times they will be using the space. While it is currently fairly empty, it will fill up as the year progresses. The document is updated as regularly as possible, so please ensure you check it before using the room with your class.

If you are using the space and an allied health professional arrives, please ask your students to return to their classroom. For everyone’s benefit, please also ensure the space is left tidy after use.

Year 1-6 Teachers: Student Voice Representatives

This year we are continuing with our Student Voice Representative system, where students have the opportunity to represent their classmates in discussions with the Leadership Team about school issues.

The process is very similar to 2025, with Years 1-6 represented in semester 1 and Foundation joining in Semester 2.

Could all Year 1-6 class teachers please read the SVR information and arrange an election some time by the end of Week 4.

Once your rep is elected, please enter their name in the table on the second page of the document.  Parents will be invited to a badge presentation ceremony at assembly in Week 6 so having the names in by the end of week 4 is vital to make sure parents have enough notice to attend.

Any queries, see Kim. Thanks!

Kim

Events 2026 - Planning for Incursions, Excursions & Camps

Could staff who are responsible for organising 2026 events please review the proposed table of events for 2026

If you have an event planned for Term 1 and have not yet completed the required paperwork or submitted it for approval, please do so as soon as possible.

Please note that all events must be planned and approved at least one term in advance; events that have not met this requirement will not proceed.

With Term 2 approaching quickly, please begin organising your event documentation now, confirm dates with venues and providers, and, once approved, ensure these are added to the table and the Compass calendar.

This is particularly important for the Year 3–5 camps, which are scheduled to run over consecutive weeks in term 2. Early planning will ensure families receive sufficient notice of key dates and have adequate time to provide consent and make payments, and will allow time for the collection and collation of required medical information.

Please review your students camp forms as soon as you receive them and add any necessary medical/dietary information to the camp medical and dietary information templates that are already in google drive.

For events planned in Terms 3 and 4, please add dates to the table if known, or book these in now where possible.

Thanks,

Vicki
