The AIP is based on the School Strategic Plan goals.

Each year we identify goals that help guide our year's work.

Each goal has Key Improvement Strategies.

Each Key Improvement Strategy has Actions and Tasks.

Once our 2026 AIP has been approved, the complete document will be provided which includes who is responsible for achieving different tasks.

2026 - CPS Norms

Here is the first draft. Please see the input from our staff and if you consider changes could be made to improve clarity / to add or subtract any Norms, please contact me.

There will be a session available to expand on what the elements of our Norms means in our context eg what does accountability mean to us... etc.

IEP Overview - All Teachers to Update ASAP

Could all teachers hyperlink all your Term 1 IEPs in the following document please? Remember to use your students' initials and then hyperlink their IEP.

Each sub-school leader will be touching base with their sub-school's teams regarding the children who currently have an IEP over weeks 3 and 4, going over the goals and strategies being put in place this Term to support your children. This is an efficient way for each sub-school leader to get to know the children who need support or extension in the 3 sub-schools and inform future wellbeing and learning leadership conversations.

Sick/Carers Leave - Certificate Requirements

A reminder to staff requesting sick leave with a certificate -

  • Certificates must state you are ‘unfit for work’ to qualify for a full day absence with a certificate.
  • If you are only absent for part of the working day, you should request instead a ‘certificate of attendance’ as you should not be attending the workplace over any part of the day if your certificate states that you are ‘unfit for work’.  You would not be covered by Workcover should you be injured at work under these circumstances.
  • Certificates that state ‘medical appointment’ or ‘certificate of attendance’ only qualify for a half day absence with certificate only.
  • Carer’s certificates must state your name, the name of the person you are caring for and your relationship to them.  As above, carer’s certificates of attendance will usually count for half day only.
  • A medical certificate must be provided for personal leave which occurs either immediately before and, or after a period of long service leave, school vacation or public holiday otherwise the absence will be without pay.

A statutory declaration may be accepted but must detail why it was not reasonably practicable to obtain a medical certificate.

A reminder that leave requests must be entered within 7 days of your return to work otherwise these may be automatically processed as sick leave without a certificate or unpaid sick leave without a certificate [where credit for leave without a certificate has been exhausted].

You can obtain further information about the various leave types and entitlements here .

Thanks,

Vicki
