Data
Last week in Maths, the Foundation students were learning about Data. They collected Data from yes and no questions and organised the data into groups. They used data to interpret which had more or less than. Here are some fun activities that they did to collect data! Mrs B and Miss Cooper were blown away by their amazing work, and they even learned some grade 1/2 work on what Tally Marks are. WOW, what superstars!!
Location
This week in Maths, the Foundation students have been learning about Location. They have been learning the language we use to describe location, such as Forwards, Backwards, Left and Right. Using this knowledge, they gave instructions to our school's coding robots and helped them locate different animals in the zoo! What fun!
Literacy
This week in Literacy, the Foundation students have been learning about the floss rule. The "floss rule" is a spelling generalisation for one-syllable words that have a short vowel sound and end in the letter sound /f/, /l/, /s/, or /z/. They have been doing an excellent job sounding out words and writing them as well! Here are some Seesaw videos of them sharing their knowledge.
They also enjoyed playing the roll and read game to practice their blending of words with double letters!
