SUP Leaders Making a Positive Impact!
Last term, our Student Upstander Program (SUP) Leaders prepared and delivered lessons across the school to help students learn about being an upstander — someone who recognises unkind behaviour, stands up for others, and helps create a safe and caring school community.
Their sessions focused on identifying unkind behaviour, practising strategies to respond respectfully, and looking out for one another. Through this experience, our SUP Leaders built their confidence and leadership skills while helping to strengthen kindness and inclusion across our school.
We recently received some wonderful feedback from students who took part in the program:
- 92% of students said they are now more likely to recognise when a friend needs help.
- 95% said they learnt something new about poor behaviour, such as bullying.
- 90% said they are more likely to be an upstander because of the training.
- 91% believe this program will help make our school an amazing place to be.
To celebrate their efforts and contribution, our SUP Leaders were recognised at assembly and presented with certificates of appreciation.
We congratulate our SUP Leaders for their hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment to making our school a kind, inclusive and respectful community.
