Dear Parents and Carers,
Reviews & Appraisal
Each school undergoes regular Learning & Teaching (SIT) Reviews and Catholic Identity reviews on a 3-4 year cycle. We recently welcomed a panel of ACER and CESL representatives to Sacred Heart School for three days to conduct our SIT Review. It was a positive experience for Staff who were able to reflect on the great Learning & Teaching that is happening at Sacred Heart School. We look forward to sharing the results with you as we use this information to guide us in our School Strategic and Annual plans and goals for the next three years. The Catholic Identity review process was also affirming, where we welcomed two CESL representatives to conduct a review of our school processes in the area of Catholic Identity. Thank you to all of our parents and carers who met with the panel to discuss your perspectives and feedback on Learning & Teaching and also completed the ORIMA survey last term, as both of these sources of feedback were used to inform the feedback from the panels.
Thank you to all parents, carers and families for completing the surveys sent out prior to my appraisal, there was a huge amount of you that took the time to complete this feedback, and I thank you all for taking the time to do so. As well as our members of the SHS community who came in to meet with the panel. The day was filled with parents and carers, staff and students meeting with members of the panel and providing feedback on my leadership. It was a positive experience, great to hear your feedback and be able to discuss how I can continue to develop professionally.
Responsible Pet Ownership Program
On Friday we had Gayle and Finn come to present workshops to each class on Responsible Pet Ownership as well as signs to recognise when approaching safely versus unsafely. Students have brought home pamphlets to share with you their families about their learnings from the workshops.

Upcoming Year 3/4/5/6 Excursion
Mrs Stephens and Miss Meares are currently planning an excursion for our Year 3 - 6 students to the Bonegilla Migrant Museum on Friday the 28th of November. Students will get to tour the museum as well as participate in a workshop. This excursion ties in with students learning about History last term. Permission notes will be sent home in hard copy this week due to PAM still being unavailable to families.

World Teacher's Day (Sacred Heart School Staff Day)
On Friday the 31st of October it was World Teacher's Day, and at Sacred Heart School we celebrated SHS Staff Day. We are fortunate to have Staff that care greatly for our students, in all areas of their learning at Sacred Heart School, so we wanted to celebrate and thank them all on this day. Our Parent and Carer Community Group kindly organised a gift for all Staff, that our senior students presented. Thank you to our P & C for organising this for our staff and to our staff for the fantastic work that you do!

Upcoming Meeting
All are welcome to join us in our next P & C Meeting. Please let me know if you are able to attend and I can make sure that the agenda has been shared with you.

Foundation 2026 Transition Days
We have had two very successful transitions for our 9 2026 Foundation students. We are thrilled that we are welcoming a mixture of siblings and new families to Sacred Heart School in 2026. We look forward to continuing to get to know them through multiple transition opportunities, ahead of starting in 2026!

There is something like 20 ish days (unbelievable!) to go in the school year, I hope that we can have all of our cherubs here every day so we can finish off our year of learning together!
