At the heart of Christian education is formation—not just of minds, but of character, community, and faith. As we look ahead to the next step in our College’s journey, I’m pleased to share a revision to our core College values, and the launch of a broader Student Character Model that will shape how we teach, mentor, and walk alongside our students.

Our revised College values are:

  • Kindness – helping others
  • Integrity – doing the right thing
  • Respect – treating others with dignity
  • Diligence – engaging and working hard

These values are more than words on a poster. They are habits of the heart and mind that we will intentionally cultivate across every year level. Whether it’s a Kind Server in Year 2 helping a classmate, a Leader with Integrity in Year 9 guiding a team, a Diligent Learner in Year 6 persevering through a challenge, or a Respectful Ambassador in Year 12 representing the College—these values will be lived, not just learned.

These values and the daily habits that show them, sit within a broader framework we’re calling the Student Character Model, which invites students to Live, Love and Learn in real community.

  • To Live, students will be equipped to serve, lead, learn, and represent—with healthy habits shaped by our College values.
  • To Love, students will be encouraged to respond to God with hearts open to wonder, faith, repentance, peace and hope. We want every child to know that they are deeply loved by God and called to love their neighbour.
  • To Learn, we’re developing a teaching and learning framework that guides how we foster curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and deep knowledge—because learning is a lifelong calling.

The Student Character Model seeks to support the holistic development of students within the College community, with the partnership of parents and churches. We believe students grow best when they are welcomed, known, and belong. Trusted relationships, shared purpose, and a culture of grace and truth will be the soil in which these seeds of character take root.

In Secondary School, we’ll be introducing dedicated ‘Equip’ periods to help students develop these skills in age-appropriate ways and are re-vamping our homecare periods into re-named ‘Pulse’ groups. We’ve launched our partnership with Compassion to help deliver purposeful programs encouraging kindness of our students. Across the College, we’ll be exploring what it means to be formed—not just educated—for lives of purpose and faith.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we shape a generation of young people who live with courage, love with compassion, and learn with wisdom.

With a very busy end of term, please ensure that you are checking the calendar on Compass and also the key dates from the Primary and Secondary School News sections on the following pages.

Grace and peace,

Dr Rahmi Jackson

I am passionate about fostering a healthy Christian community within our school! I am excited to encourage the students and share my faith in God. I am passionate about ensuring a positive school culture where everyone feels welcome, supported, and included.

A little bit about me is that I attend St Aidan's Church and assist with Kids Church. I enjoy competing in Ballroom Dancing and spending my spare time doing photography. I love animals and going on walks with my jack russell.

My favourite Bible verse is in Isaiah 41:10 -

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
