To celebrate our top values point earners, students were treated to delicious choc tops as a sweet reward for their outstanding effort and behaviour! The smiles said it all as they enjoyed their well-deserved treats, recognising the hard work, respect, and positive attitude they’ve shown throughout the term. It was a fun (and tasty) way to celebrate their commitment to living our school values every day.

Our students have been hard at work completing their White Card course, an essential step for anyone wanting to enter the construction industry. The course provided them with important knowledge about workplace safety, site procedures, and responsibilities on a building site.
By earning their White Cards, students have taken a huge step toward future opportunities in construction, trades, and hands-on industries. We’re so proud of their effort and commitment to developing real-world skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom!

One of our talented students Kobe recently created a stunning metal flower sculpture, cleverly using a horseshoe as the base. The unique design combined creativity and skill, showcasing both artistic flair and practical craftsmanship. The finished piece was not only eye-catching but also a great example of how imagination and hands-on learning can come together to produce something truly special.

Students have been busy working hard in class, staying focused and putting great effort into their tasks. It’s been wonderful to see everyone engaged and doing their best in their learning each day. With only five weeks left of Year 9, they’re finishing up the last of their assessments and showing great determination to end the year on a high note.

This unit of Health and Leisure has seen the Year 9 students focussing on topics such as dimensions of health, nutrition and illness and disease. To consolidate their knowledge, specifically around the dimensions of health and to experience a leisure activity the class elected to go to Lakes Entrance Mini Golf. It was a wild, wet and windy day but spirits remained high. With side rain buffeting the students, extra focus and resilience was required to putt their way to victory. Giggles, laughter, a little friendly competition, a few rogue balls flying to unintended holes, soggy socks, crazy hair and of course, a few holes in one. After collecting our prizes, the team refuelled before heading back to school. A great time had by all with some pondering the prospect of becoming the next Tiger Woods... or perhaps Happy Gilmore.

We have been working on something super exciting for our Year 9 girls. Because She Can is all about empowering young women to dream big, aim high, and believe in their potential. It’s a celebration of confidence, courage, and determination, reminding every girl that she’s capable of achieving incredible things when she believes in herself and supports others along the way.

College Uniform Expectations
As always, most of our students continue to wear the correct school uniform.
We kindly ask all families to ensure that students are in full school uniform each day. We are still completing large orders of uniform. If you need any support in sourcing uniform items, please don’t hesitate to contact Amy in the Year 8 Hub.
Students who arrive at school out of uniform will be provided with the appropriate items and expected to wear them during the school day.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
For your reference, the uniform policy and price list are included below as well as examples of correct uniform.

Phones at School: What You Need to Know
In accordance with the Department of Education Mobile Phones Policy, students must not use their mobile phones at Bairnsdale Secondary College during school hours, including Break 1 and 2, unless an exemption has been granted by the Principal.
Students may need to bring a personal mobile phone to school, for example if travelling independently to and from school. If students bring a mobile phone to school they must be switched off and stored securely in their locker all day, including Break 1 and 2. Mobile phones are considered valuable items and are brought to the school at the owner’s risk.
For further information the BSC Mobile Phones Policy is located on the College website.
