Principal's Message

Hello everyone,
It’s hard to believe that four weeks of Term 4 have already flown by! The energy across the College has been fantastic — from the excitement of our Year 12 farewell to the buzz of Headstart preparations, it’s been a busy and rewarding start to the term.
Farewell, Class of 2025
What an emotional and memorable couple of weeks it has been for our Year 12 students!
Their journey through 13 years of schooling came to a close with a wonderful celebration in Rawson last Friday. On Thursday last week the day began with the much-loved Hat and Tie Day and concluded with a heartfelt whole-school assembly, where students and staff came together to reflect on achievements, share memories, and wish our graduating class the very best for the future.
This week marked the beginning of their final exams — starting with English on Tuesday. To kick off the start of exams our staff prepared a breakfast of toasties and hot chocolates for the students. There were nerves and excitement all around (including among the staff!).
We are extremely proud of our Year 12 cohort for 2025. They have been outstanding role models for our younger students, have finished their time at the College with great respect and positivity, and are approaching their exams with maturity and determination.
For those students who have completed their studies and are already moving on to new adventures — whether work, apprenticeships, or other opportunities — we send our warmest congratulations and best wishes.
We look forward to coming together once again for Graduation Evening on Thursday 19th November, to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2025.
Headstart: Looking Ahead
Term 4 also brings one of the most important transition programs of the year — Headstart. This initiative gives students a head start on their learning for 2026 and helps set them up for success in the year ahead.
- Current Year 11 students will begin their Year 12 studies (2025) in Week 7. This period will help them establish solid routines and expectations before the new school year begins. They will also attend a Study Camp from 12th–14th November, a great opportunity to prepare academically and bond as a cohort.
- In Week 9, the rest of the College will step up to their next year level — with current Year 7 students becoming Year 8 students, and so on — marking an exciting transition for all students.
If you have any questions regarding your students transition between year levels please do not hesitate to contact us.
Welcoming Our 2026 Year 7 Students
We have already begun welcoming our 2026 Year 7 students into our College, and what an absolute pleasure it has been! A huge thank you to our primary schools for their continued collaboration and support in helping make the transition from primary to secondary school as smooth as possible.
Our College has been working closely with primary schools on programs focused on writing, literacy, and numeracy, ensuring that students have the strongest possible foundation as they begin their secondary education.
We’re excited to have our entire 2026 Year 7 cohort come together for two Orientation Days, beginning on Tuesday 9th December. Families will receive more detailed information about these sessions in the coming weeks.
School Council
A heartfelt thank you to our School Council for their outstanding contribution this year.
Their positive mindset, teamwork, and commitment to representing our students, staff, parents, and the wider community has been truly appreciated. The Council’s collective skills and perspectives continue to strengthen our College and guide our shared vision for the future.
Term 4 is always a time of mixed emotions — endings and new beginnings, reflection and anticipation. We are incredibly proud of our students for their ongoing effort, enthusiasm, and resilience as we move into the final stretch of the year.
Thank you to our families for your continued support — it truly makes all the difference.
Sincerely,
Tony Roberts
Principal
