Our School Captains and Vice Captains attended the St. Patrick's Day Mass at the Cathedral with Mrs. Gravina and Mrs. Guardascione. These students were exemplary role models for our school, participating with grace and reverence throughout the event. Later in the week, we celebrated St. Patrick's Day as a school with a special celebration on Friday afternoon following our Harmony Day Liturgy. The students added a touch of green and orange to their outfits and had lots of fun dancing and playing games like scissors, paper, rock!
After lunch, we celebrated the Feast of the Annunciation with a special event. This feast commemorates the angel Gabriel's visit to the Virgin Mary, announcing that she would conceive and become the mother of Jesus. Some of our Year 2 students beautifully acted out the story, while the Year 6 students led the liturgy, guiding us through the celebration with reverence. It was a wonderful way to celebrate this feast day.
Next week, our Year 4 students will be receiving the Sacrament of the Eucharist. They will have a Holy Communion Retreat Day next Thursday 3rd April. Parents are warmly invited to attend from 2pm-3pm for a sacramental craft activity with their child and the students will receive reconciliation. The First Holy Communion mass will be held on Saturday 5th of April in our school church at 5.30pm. Everyone is welcome to join us in this celebration.
In Week 10, our students will hold a liturgy each afternoon to mark Holy Week. These liturgies will begin at 2.45pm (Mon, Tues & Thurs) and 2.30pm (Wed) on the top playground. The students and teachers are busy preparing for our liturgies. Please save the dates and join us on the top playground if the weather is fine or the church if it’s raining.
