Neurodiversity in STEM

Last week, all classes explored Neurodiversity in their STEM lessons—what it means, the unique strengths and challenges it can bring, and the impact of brilliant neurodivergent minds in STEM fields. Each class engaged in thoughtful discussions, demonstrating the Respect, Compassion, and Resilience that define Donvale students in their relationships with themselves and others.

To celebrate the beauty of our diverse minds, students then created their own miniature brains out of plasticine, highlighting the idea that every brain is unique and valuable.

Stop Motion Project – Term 2 (Year 3-6)

As part of their STEM learning in Term 2, Year 3-6 students will be creating a short stop-motion video. This week, I have spoken to each class about downloading the app needed for this project.

To help your child be ready for Term 2, please assist them in downloading the app over the school holidays. The app is free, and most students have already used it in the Junior building. The icon looks like the image below.

If you are unable to download the app or have any questions, please contact me or your child's classroom teacher. The app will be an important part of their STEM assessment for the term.
