Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

PRE-CORRECTIONS

The St Joseph’s staff have been focusing on using pre-corrections as a proactive approach within our PBL program. After engaging with research articles around pre-corrections, each year level team created a Rapid Action Plan, outlining a specific routine or behaviour they would like to proactively address using pre-corrections. In the Foundation learning area, the teachers identified transitioning from table to floor times between lessons to be an area for improvement. The Prep team used video modelling to support students in achieving this goal. After the teacher modelling of what a “good one looks like”, each class practised showing the expected behaviour of moving from the table to floor time. The students experienced success and developed their skills and behaviour when transitioning, which resulted in increased learning time.
