We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Kulin nation; past, present and those who will walk with us into the future. We acknowledge the rich and unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas, educational practices and the hopes of all First Nations Peoples. We do this in the spirit of reconciliation as we move to a place of justice and partnership - together we work, learn, play and care for one another and this land.
This Saturday the 3rd May we will have a Sausage Sizzle and Bake Sale at Kalinda, as our school is a polling location for the Federal Election.
Thank you so much to those community members who have signed up to help out on the day for this great fundraising event. It is always a lot of fun and a great way to contribute.
If you have a spare couple of hours on the day we would love if you could sign up via the link below (they are 2 hour slots, but you can even partner up with someone and do an hour each).

We are very pleased to welcome a number of experienced and highly skilled teachers to our school this term. They are all great additions to our team and bring a great set of skills and experiences from their previous schools.
Welcome to Ms Sara Hamilton, Ms Maddy Jeffs, Ms Mel Grant, and from next week Ms Stephanie Parton, who will be returning to Kalinda.
I was very proud to attend the ANZAC Dawn services last week alongside our school captains. They represented the school very well and laid a wreath at the Ringwood Clocktower on behalf of Kalinda Primary School.
It was wonderful to see such a large number of community members at the service, with an estimated 6000 people in attendance.
As mentioned last term, our Japanese sister school, Lilyvale Elementary School, will be visiting Kalinda and Warranwood Primary School in August this year. 25 students have been selected to join the trip and we look forward to making them very welcome.
Over the Easter break, I had the opportunity to visit Lilyvale, whilst on my own personal trip to Japan. On behalf of Kalind, I had the opportunity to make a speech at the Year 1 Commencement Ceremony (a very formal version of our first day for Foundation students) and meet with the staff and students at the school.
It was a great opportunity to continue to strengthen the partnership between our schools, a partnership that brings so much to the students from both schools and an opportunities for our students to have a truly global education.
