Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

Friday, 4th April, is our last day of term!

Our students love a dress up day and to celebrate the end of term, our SRC have proposed a dress up day, encouraging students to come along dressed as 'What you want to be when you grow up!" (no gold coin donation required)

A reminder to all families that on the last day of term, school will finish at the earlier time of 2.30pm on this day!

Congratulations to Cooper, Hugo, Sebastian, Goldie, Griffin and Queenie on their participation in last week's Mountain Bike Interschool's Competition.  By all accounts, this was a great experience and the students can all be very proud of their participation and achievement on the day. Many thanks to Jarrod Paine for his support to students and to all parents for their assistance.

During this and next week, Year 4s are running lunchtime clubs. On Monday, we had another run of the Ninja Warrior Club obstacle course, and on Tuesday the Sports club led a game of soccer.  Today, it was drama club and tomorrow students are invited to join the puzzle club and sports art club in the Multi-Purpose building. Congratulations to our Year 4 students on their leadership, and thank you to everyone who has shown their support.

Today, students in Years 3-6 had the opportunity to participate in a workshop with the VSSEC STEM Academy.

This outreach program provides students in Years 3-6 access to hands on learning about how organisms survive by adapting to their habitat, and the principals of flight through designing and testing water rockets.

Later this year, a number of students will have the opportunity to participate in Energy Breakthrough, through a joint project with the Mount Beauty Secondary College.  Today, Mr Greenhalgh came to speak with our students in Year 5/6 about the EB challenge and the human powered vehicle race.  Students also had an opportunity to view one of the vehicles and how it works.
