A Spotlight on Learning 

A Spotlight on Learning in the JLC on Springvale Campus

The JLC had a wonderful time at Kaboom Sports on Wednesday. They enjoyed playing with their friends and meeting new friends from the Heights Campus. 

In Mathematics they have been learning about measurement and mass. They have been measuring things inside their classrooms and using scales to compare the weight of different items.

Students have been learning to write recounts about their weekend and other activities in Writing. They have been building their writing stamina by having a go when they get stuck and listening to the sounds they hear in words. In Reading students have been learning strategies to help them when they come across tricky words in a text. Students have also been practising their Magic Words in class and at home and have been making good progress in their reading. 

In SEL students have been talking about personal strengths, including ways we are similar and different to others. And they have been revising safe and unsafe behaviours around the school. Students have been learning about healthy lifestyles and healthy eating. They identified the five food groups and planned their dream healthy lunchboxes.
