Snapshots from Springvale

As Term One comes to a close, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible term it has been, full of learning and fun. From engaging lessons and hands-on projects to collaborative activities and sporting events, our students have seized every opportunity with commitment and enthusiasm, showing growth both academically and socially. We were also fortunate to experience several special events, including the FLC Family Fun Day, Harmony Day, Kaboom Sports, and various excursions and incursions, all of which added to the excitement of the term.

A special mention goes to our amazing teachers and education support staff, who have worked tirelessly to support our students every step of the way. I’m sure you will all join me in thanking them and wishing them a restful holiday break.

I would also like to acknowledge our incredible student leaders for taking on their roles with passion and commitment. They have led assemblies and special events, and have worked alongside their peers to share ideas and contribute to decisions that shape their learning and our school environment. Whether through student councils, class meetings, or special projects, our students' voices are making a meaningful impact.

The upcoming school holidays will provide students with a chance to relax, but also to explore other interests and spend quality time with loved ones. Here are some ideas for activities your family might enjoy:

  1. Outdoor Adventures: Go for a walk in the park and complete a treasure hunt or an alphabet scavenger hunt.

  2. DIY Craft Projects: Re-use cardboard boxes, containers, and other materials to create something new.

  3. Reading Challenge: Visit Springvale Library and borrow a book (or several!). Let’s keep those reading skills sharp during the holidays!

  4. Cooking Together: Try out some new recipes or bake traditional treats. It’s a fun way to teach children about measuring, following instructions, and being patient.

  5. Fitness Fun: Have a mini sports day in the backyard with relay races, ball games, or obstacle courses. Try yoga or dance exercises as a family to stay active and have fun.

We hope these activities inspire some family fun and learning throughout the break! I look forward to hearing all about it when we return in Term Two. Lastly, I would like to wish Eid Mubarak to all our families who celebrated this week, and Happy Easter to everyone who will celebrate during the holidays.
