School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support

As previously communicated, one of the school’s main priorities for wellbeing this year is implementing and embedding the evidence-based School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework. The aims of the framework are to help schools create positive, safe, and fair settings where students and teachers can thrive. It focuses on teaching and encouraging positive behaviour, supporting all students, and providing extra help to those who need it. By doing this, SWPBS helps improve behaviour, wellbeing, and academic success.

The SWPBS leadership team is now well underway with their training and is meeting regularly to create an action plan for the implementation of the SWPBS framework across the school. This week, we have been unpacking how the team will communicate progress and action, as well as setting up the policies and procedures to support a successful and consistent school-wide approach to positive behaviour. Regular updates about what is happening around the school will be communicated to the community via the school newsletter. There will also be input from parents and students about how the framework will be implemented within our school.

The rollout of the SWPBS framework is a long-term goal focused on establishing strong foundations and ensuring consistency across the school to maximize the benefits for student wellbeing and achievement.
