'Never see a need without doing something about it'- St Mary of the Cross MacKillop

Gospel Reading

John 6:24–35

Jesus teaches the crowds that he is the “bread of life.”

We human beings have many important needs that must be fulfilled if we are to be healthy and happy. In today’s Gospel, we hear that the people were seeking out Jesus because he had fed them with bread and fish.

Jesus says that he will give them more bread, but this bread will be an even better gift than the food they have already eaten. The bread that he will give them will permit them to live forever with God in heaven. Jesus says that he will give them the gift of himself, that he is the bread of life. This is the gift that Jesus has given to us in the Eucharist.

Jesus told them that he is the Bread of Life. He gave them something important. It was not a want but a need. He gave them spiritual food. When we celebrate Holy Communion, the bread and wine become Jesus’ Body and Blood. Jesus is truly present to us in this sacrament. When we receive him and follow him, he gives us life forever with God in heaven.

Whole School Mass on Thursday, 8th August.

This is to inform you that all  students from  Foundation  to Grade 6  ( whole school Mass) will be participating in the Holy Mass on Thursday, 8th August,  at 9:00 a.m

This is to celebrate  the feast day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop who is the first Australian Saint who was committed to the safety, care,  well being and protection of all children, young people and the vulnerable in our community. We come together as a community to seek her blessing on each one of us including our families and friends.

Parents and carers are most welcome to participate in this Mass.  The students are expected to be in school by 8:40 a.m. where the staff will take the roll and then head off to the Church by 8:50 a.m. Should your child arrive after the scheduled time then, they would need to be brought directly to the Church as the whole school will be closed from 8:55 to 9:30 a.m.

Please try to be on time to avoid being late at Mass.

Thanks for your support and cooperation
