Foundation L - Busy Bees!

This term has been a big start with many celebrations in Foundation L. We kicked off our term with 100 days of school, followed by our class mass in week 2. The students have settled back well and have grown so much in confidence already this term!

Each Monday morning, we share and complete a recount about our weekends. The students share one special thing they did on the weekend with one another and then write a short recount and draw a picture to match. They have been doing a fantastic job at using their most common sounds to write unknown words in their sentences. Here are some photos of our weekend news!

In maths, we have are learning about subtraction. The students used a ten frame and playdough to help with their sums. We shared worded problems, students smashed the amount of playdough that we needed to take away and then wrote a number sentence to match. For their first week with this topic, they are doing a fantastic job!

Each morning, the students complete a fluency pairs reading passage with a partner. They work in pairs to read the passage, using their decoding skills, however also focusing on their expressions. They did such a wonderful job at staying focused and working with their partners.
