Frozen Moments
Patrick, Dan and Kimalee, the Performing Arts Team
We are building on the skills we explored and practiced in semester 1 with a focus this term on presenting and performing to each other in class.
Speaking of performing, Patrick, Dan and Kimalee are also running lunchtime clubs – at our Errol Street Campus, Patrick is running Xylophone Group and Dan is running the Tue Tue Performance Group, and Kimalee is continuing with the Junior Choir at our Molesworth Street Campus.
All students are continuing to sing and play instruments to songs from a range of cultures. We have been extending our repertoire with songs from Morocco, the Torres Straight Islands and Ghana.
Our Year 5 and 6 students are looking at aspects of improvisation in performance in both Drama and Music while Year 3 and 4 are exploring the use of tension in both music and drama (cue the theme from Jaws!)
As you can see from the photos, the year 3-4 students are adept at creating frozen moments of Drama that capture a state of tension and suspense!
