Kids in Space Program
From Joe, Learning Specialist
Year 3-6
We are excited to announce that for the second year in a row, North Melbourne Primary School has been accepted into the national Kids in Space Program.
Kids in Space is a sponsored space education program for each state and territory that offers industry links and real-world learning opportunities. Kids in Space is designed to encourage students to engage with the nation’s growing space ecosystem, introduce them to space technology and different jobs within the space industry and spark their interest in a space career.
The design challenge question for 2024 is:
Solve a problem we have here on Earth using space technologies.
Alternatively solve a problem to help astronauts and scientists live in space.
This term, Year 3-6 students will be learning about space technologies and using the design thinking process will create solutions to these problems.
We encourage you to talk to your child about their ideas and solutions at home!
