Hello from Music

Respect, Responsibility and Kindness

Choir Performance

Our school choir will be performing three songs at assembly this Friday. Assembly will begin at approximately 2.50pm. We'd love to see you there!

5/6 - Music from Different Locations & Cultures

The 5/6 students started off the term exploring Australian Aboriginal Songlines and how these complex songs are used as maps that describe important sites, boundaries and natural landmarks.

In week three we looked at songs from France and learned a clapping game based on a song about apples and (strangely) carpet! This week we have learned another challenging rhythm game played along to the song Obaba (Tambores), a Brazilian folk song about drumming.

Here are the students from 5/6C clapping along to Pomme de Reinette:

Prep/1

Here are some snaps of Prep/1L students dancing to ‘I Get Angry’. They’ve been learning how we can use music to make us feel better, how it can help us share the way we’re feeling and how music can reflect many different moods.

I love when the kids are just a dancing blur in the photos too!
