Year 2

Time flies when you’re having fun! In Literacy we have been honing into our visualisation skills to enhance our understanding of the things we read. We have been busy planning our own stories and have enjoyed reading story books that inspire us. We are paying close attention to the way we structure our narratives.

In Mathematics we are learning strategies to help sharpen our skills in addition and subtraction. We have played classroom games to help us understand chance and probability. 2D has just begun to learn more about multiplication and division. In Mrs Darwall’s weekly maths class, our problem-solving skills have been activated with hands-on activities such as replicating 3D shapes and making Lego Beyblades that spin.  

Our mini scientists are continuing to explore the magical ways that substances behave when we mix them. We are using journals to record our predictions and our observations. 

So far in Inquiry we have investigated weather patterns, weather symbols and the water cycle.
