Year 1

We started Term 3 with brand new rectangular tables in our classroom.

During the morning, we have been adjusting to our new routine, beginning our day with our UFLI lesson, fluency pair activities and daily handwriting practice using our ‘Show Me Boards’.

Students have begun learning about minibeasts as our inquiry topic. Last week we focused on Ladybugs. We learnt all about their life cycles, labelled body parts on a diagram and wrote an Information Report to share what we learnt.

In maths we have been making different colour, shape and number patterns.

We started creating a tally showing the daily medal count between 5 countries competing in the Olympic Games and drew the 2024 Olympic mascot.

We celebrated International Friendship Day, enjoyed Pyjama Day and began our Friends and Feelings sessions with Abby.

We are all looking forward to many more learning opportunities and fun experiences ahead during the term.
