Unit of Work and SEL

This term our Unit of Work is a Grade 5/6 combined musical production, based on the book 'The Giant Jam Sandwich'. 

The students will all have a part which be a speaking or non-speaking role, culminating with an exciting Musical extravanza at the end of term 4.

Mr Anthony has already begun working with a group of students to write the script.

Auditions have been held and roles allocated. Each Grade 5/6 class has a different scene. The students will be working over the next term learning about how a production of this scale will work. They will be practising their lines through Reader's Theatre, creating props to decorate the stage and learning songs to help tell the narrative.

SEL 

In Social and Emotional Learning this term, the Grade 5 and 6 students will be taking part in a Cyber Safety Project to develop skills and enable them to become successful digital citizens.

The students will be learning about:

• how to create a safe and strong password to keep our digital spaces secure
• the differences between a personal, private and public platform
• creating digital reminders to maintain safety when living, learning and playing online
• evaluating types of information that can place our safey, privacy and digital reputation at risk
• considering the perspectives of a range of people who can view your online profile
