Numeracy

In Maths, we will be developing our skills and understanding of Multiplication and Division: 

Grade 5 will be:

-Solving problems involving multiplication of one- or two-digit 

numbers using efficient mental and written strategies 

-Solving problems involving division by a one digit number, including those with

 in a remainder 

-Identifying and describing factors and multiples of whole numbers and use them to solve

 problems 

-Using estimation and rounding to check the reasonableness of answers to calculations 

Grade 6:

-Multiplying decimals by whole numbers and performing divisions by non-zero whole

 numbers where the results are terminating decimals

-Multiplying and dividing decimals by powers of 10 

-Selecting and applying efficient mental and written strategies to solve problems involving all four operations with whole numbers and make estimates for these computations
