Green and Gold Day - Friday 9th August
To celebrate the last few days of the 2024 Paris Olympic games,Holy Family will be having a Green and Gold Day. Students are asked to dress in the colours of green and gold, the national colours of Australia.
Please remember that students should:
-be warm and sensibly dressed for the cold weather
-wear enclosed shoes, school shoes or sneakers
-not come to school with face paint or hair spray - this should be done minimally at home if wanted
Throughout the day, students will be involved in activities that celebrate Australia's spirit, sportsmanship and success at the Paris Games.
Loose Parts Play
Our new playground is looking fantastic and over the past two weeks the students have enjoyed exploring all the new areas and equipment.
To complement the new playground, we would like to initiate a small loose parts play area. Loose parts play is based on a creative play idea in which the students can use a variety of materials to build whatever they imagine.
In putting this together, we are asking if any families have any of the following at home that they could please donate to the school -
- clean, unbroken PVC piping
milk crates
- thin old scarves or pieces of material
- pieces of wood - sanded so there are no potential splinters
- medium to large pieces of dowl
large wooden blocks - sanded
- plastic expandable piping
-tyres and wheels - light enough to be wheeled around
- small wooden (sanded) crates
If you have any of the following, please drop them into the school office
