New - Feast of Mary MacKillop Activity Day

To celebrate the feast of Mary MacKillop, Australia's first saint we are having a special activity day on Friday 9th August.

Our senior students will be running activities and games before lunch time. 

Students are to wear their House Colour t-shirts. 

Thanks to the Gr 5/6's for organising this.

 

NEW - Book Week Dress Up Day & Parade

Friday 16th August

'2024 Children's Book Week Theme - 'Reading is Magic'

 

Come dressed as a Character from the Theme or as your favorite book Character. 

Students in their classes, will do a parade in the Marian Centre from 9.15am.

 

REMINDER - Subway Lunch Orders

Paper subway orders are to be placed in Subway Tub Thursday's for delivery Friday. We ask for late orders to be submitted to Subway Store before close of business each Thursday, please avoid dropping them in Friday mornings.

 

For orders via CDFpay, please place order before 2.45pm Thursdays. Scan the QR code beside and register your details if you haven't already done so, and use the Subway menu to place an order. If you do not have a CDFpay account please follow the directions in the Instruction sheet below.

 

Reminder - School Uniform

Students are to wear winter uniform for terms 2 & 3.

Sports uniform is to be worn for students PE day and all students are required to wear black basketball shorts or black tracksuit pants.

REMINDER - bike shorts are not school uniform.

New - Grade Prep / 1 / 2 Swimming

Prep /1/2 Swimming Program will be held Week 7, Monday 26th - Friday 30th August. Students will attend Aquamoves in their classes for a 45 minute lesson during the week long program. 

Permission note and further information will be sent out in the next week.

Grade 1/2 Excursion

Our Grade 1/2 students have an excursion to the Melbourne Zoo on Wednesday 4th September. Permission note and excursion details will be made available in the coming weeks.

 

School Happenings

New - AFL Legend Brett Deledio

On Monday Rebel Sport Shepparton had AFL legend Brett Deledio visit with the AFL & AFLW premiership cups. As part of the appearance Rebel Sport gave the children who came along the chance to win a $500 rebel gift card for their local school to purchase some sporting equipment.

The lucky winner was Jai Mason (photo below) and he elected St Mary’s Mooroopna as his school to win. Congratulations and thankyou Jai.

 

New - 5/6 Tree Planting

Last Friday, the 5/6 students participated in a tree planting experience. This was organised through the local council as part of the ‘One Tree Per Child’ initiative that aims to get every child to plant at least one tree before they leave school. 

It was a fantastic morning, the children had a blast planting the native shrubs on Westview Drive in Mooroopna and represented our school beautifully.

 

New - Regional Netball 

Well done to this fabulous group of netballers! Last Friday they participated in the Regional stage for the first time ever for St Mary's. They came very close to beating Benalla and then came across a well oiled Wodonga side who eventually won the day. 

Be proud of yourselves girls, we are certainly proud of you! Go St Mary's!

 

 

 

New - 100 Days of Prep

Last Tuesday our Preps celebrated 100 days of Prep. The students dressed up as '100'and boy did they look fabulous.

They had a variety of different activities that kept them busy throughout the day.
