From Ms Gooch
It has been exciting to see the Paris 2024 Olympics arrive on our screens. To many the Olympic Games are not just a global sporting event. For me, the stories emerging demonstrate the power of a ‘Growth Mindset’, something that we speak to our students a lot about at Kambala.
As we watch athletes from around the world strive for their best (especially our sensational female swimmers!), we see that dedication, perseverance and a willingness to learn from setbacks are the keys to achieving our goals.
I have enjoyed watching our own students settle into their learning and witnessing these types of mindsets at play in our learning environments here - in last week’s debate against Cranbrook students, in our 3U Assembly where the students delivered a wonderful presentation on positive thinking and affirmations, and during our marvellous Bands Evening on Tuesday. What a joy it was to see Junior School students play alongside Senior School students, so confidently with such comfort in front of a large audience!
I will especially look forward to seeing courage and effort on the field at our Massie House Sports Day - next Friday 9 August. Please join us for this exciting afternoon!
As we move into Term 3, we encourage our students to channel the Olympic spirit and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, knowing that with hard work and a positive attitude, we too can strive for our own personal bests.

Mufti Day "Write a Book in a Day" for Kids' Cancer Project - Preparation - Year 6 - Friday 2 August, 2024
A reminder that tomorrow will be a Mufti Day. Later this term, our Year 6 girls will be working in groups with Year 6 Scots boys for a writing workshop - the Write a Book in a Day competition. Write a Book in a Day challenges teams across Australia to write and illustrate a book in just 12 hours for children in hospital to enjoy.
As part of this, we will be raising vital funds for The Kids' Cancer Project. All Junior School students from Prep-Year 6 are asked to wear mufti clothes to school on Friday 2 August and to please bring a gold coin donation. Thank you for your support of this important fundraising event.
Please ensure the girls are dressed appropriately for learning and weather on the day (no midriffs, pyjamas or jewellery please).
