School Council Vacancy
We still have a vacancy on School Council, and I would like to invite you to consider joining us for our next meeting to see how the meetings are run. This is a great opportunity to get a feel for how the School Council operates. We will be holding the remainder of our 2025 meetings online so you don’t need to leave your couch to join us. The meetings are on Thursday evenings commencing at 7:00pm. We have 3 meetings remaining for 2025. I would love to chat to you if you think it is something you’d like to be involved in.
Girls Soccer Team
Yesterday our girls soccer team represented our school at the regional level competition. The students played well and were a strong team. They placed 5th in the competition which is amazing! Congratulations to our fabulous players!
Students arriving early at school
We have noticed an increase in the number of students arriving early each morning. Staff are not in the classrooms or playground supervising students prior to 8:45 am. We understand that it can sometimes be difficult to manage the mornings and that there is the temptation to drop children off prior to supervised times, however this is an unsafe practice. If you require care prior to this time, please book into our Before Care Program to ensure that your children are supervised prior to the supervision hours provided by the school. Supervision hours are from 8:45am -3:45pm. We appreciate your support with this. Our full yard duty and supervision policy is available on our website: https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/62b6c0471408ab183df5c692/68953759dbbd4e7e83d293d9_Yard%20duty%20supervision%20policy%20Aug%202025.pdf
Book Week Parade
Next Tuesday we will be holding our annual Book Week Parade commencing at 9am. Families are welcome to join us for the Parade. Students are encouraged to come dressed as a character from a book or book-inspired category. We kindly ask that all costumes are age-appropriate and suitable for the school environment, allowing students to participate safely and respectfully.
Closure of Lower Road
We have received news that the removal of rooms 21 and 22 (relocatable classrooms on Lower Road) will be removed on September 15th. This means that the road will be closed for the day and that access to the drop off zone will not be available. More information will be provided to us soon and this will be shared with our community. I will post reminders leading up to the date on Compass and to Parent Reps to share in the Whats App groups to help families manage on the day. The parking at the Eltham North Adventure Playground is extensive enabling drop offs to occur there. Our crossing supervisors will also be in attendance to ensure students arrive and leave school safely on the day.
Wishing you a great weekend!
