Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,
NAPLAN RESULTS 2025
We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for their dedication to their learning in all areas of the curriculum. In the case of Literacy and Numeracy we have much to celebrate. We have strong and dedicated leadership teams across Mathematics, Literacy, Wellbeing and Specialist Areas. Other staff members lead our year levels and departments through Professional Learning Communities. Our students are showing a strong commitment to their learning and we see this improvement every day.
But you don’t have to take my word for it, please consider our results comparative to Network, Similar and all schools across the state.
It’s a great illustration of the work committed by our dedicated staff and students. It is also through the hard work and support of our parents that we are doing so well.
100 DAYS OF FOUNDATION
On Monday, our Foundation students celebrated a very special milestone – 100 days of school!
The day began with a colourful parade at our morning assembly, followed by fun, creative activities all themed around the number '100'. Students enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch and were thrilled to welcome grandparents and special visitors into their classrooms in the afternoon.
This day is a big milestone for our Foundation students and we're extremely proud of all of them on a wonderful start to their schooling years.
A big thank you to our amazing staff, families and visitors for helping make the day so memorable!
CONGRATULATIONS NATASHA STARICK - DEAKIN STORYBOOL COVER CHALLENGE WINNER
We are so proud of one of our talented Year 6 students, Natasha Starick, who was named the winner of the Deakin University Storybool Cover Challenge in the 8+ age category!
Natasha’s winning entry, titled The Hidden, impressed the judges with her creativity, imagination, and beautifully designed book cover.
This is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of Natasha’s passion for both art and literature.
Well done, Natasha!
YEAR 1 - EXPLORING HABITATS
This term, Year 1 students are exploring habitats with their guide Rattenborough. Rattenborough is a unique and adventurous rodent that likes to share his knowledge of animals and the areas they live in. Can you guess who Rattenborough is named after? If not, ask one of your Year 1 children – they are very knowledgeable.
We have started our journey by visiting the Arctic Region. So far, we have learnt about the Arctic tundra and the Arctic Ocean. The Arctic Region is a habitat for several interesting animals. One of our favourite Arctic animals is the polar bear. This week, Year 1B listed a number of adaptations that polar bears have to help them survive the harsh Arctic weather. Polar bears have thick, multi layered fur. They are expert swimmers and use their back legs like a rudder. Did you know that they have black skin and transparent hair?
PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Thankyou to all parents and staff for this weeks’ Parent Teacher Interviews. Conferences such as these are vital in maintaining the link between school and families regarding the progress of your children.
