ASPIRE 2025 – ‘The Rise of Bozz’
It is the future: after a long war, technology has been banned as well as emotions. Young people are sent to school to learn how to make a ‘positive impact’ in the new world. When mysterious artworks bearing the tag Bozz start appearing around the city questioning the government’s decisions, a small group of outlaws called ‘The UnEducated’ are inspired to challenge the decisions of their leaders.
This year the talents of four of our gifted Creative Arts students were showcased in the spectacular production that was, ‘The Rise of Bozz’. Megan L (Year 12), Michelle I (Year 11), Lula P (Year 10) and Lilly R (Year 10) performed with an incredible sense of characterisation, musicality and passion for the performing arts.
A special mention to Megan, who was recognised for her seven years of involvement in the ASPIRE program. Over the course of these years, Megan has consistently demonstrated her love of, and commitment to, the performing arts, a true sense of perseverance and her flexibility to perform in a wide variety of roles.
Any student who would like to audition for the ASPIRE 2026 production, or be involved in one of ASPIRE’s year-round programs (in Music, Drama, Dance or Art) – please come and speak with Mrs Bronwen Smith or speak to one of the Creative Arts teachers. Promotional flyers for all programs are also placed on Compass and around the school; ask questions, get involved and embrace your passion and potential!

A reflection from Lula P:
During Week 2 Lilly R, Megan L and myself (drama) and Michelle I (singing) went to the Civic Theatre in Newcastle to perform in ASPIRE. ASPIRE is composed of 150 children from all over the Diocese in areas such as drama, singing, dance and band. The production showcased the importance of emotions and how they are needed for a functional society. After eight months, we as an ensemble worked hard every Tuesday to perfect this performance. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at ASPIRE and encourage anyone to sign up and participate!
