YEAR 3

FROM THE CLASSROOM
This week in Year 3, students began learning their new Mentor Text, "The Magic Of A Drawing". In our text, the main character Leo goes on an epic adventure into a magical world created by his own imagination.
In Reading, students have build their background knowledge in cooking around the world. They have been reading the "World Kitchen Cookbook" that has shown them all the different cooking utensils, herbs and spices as well as festive food that can be found around the globe.
In Mathematics students have been investigating the features of shapes (vertices, edges and faces). We have explored where these shapes are in the real world and continued to identify shapes based on their features.

REMINDERS
WET WEATHER
With the weather becoming colder and wetter, we encourage families to ensure students are dressed appropriately for the conditions each day. A warm jacket, suitable shoes and, where possible, a spare pair of socks can make a big difference on wet days.
We also ask families to have a conversation with their child about making sensible choices during outdoor play, particularly around puddles, muddy areas and wet grass. While we will always support students where we can, the school is not able to provide changes of clothing if students become wet from playing outside.
