Hello Prep families!

In Investigations this week we continued learning about special places, with a strong focus on how places link with Country and Indigenous culture. Students had a wonderful time this week learning all about Reconciliation Week, reading different texts written by Indigenous authors and exploring and comparing current maps of Victoria and Australia to Indigenous maps of Country. In Literacy, students have been exposed to the letter W this week,

completing the alphabet and the first four stages of the Little Learners Love Literacy Program. The next two weeks will focus on revising letters learnt in stages 3 and 4 of the program. Students are very excited to celebrate Milo Monkey’s Birthday next week!

Milo Monkey’s Birthday Party

  • Friday the 5th of June

Students can wear pajamas to school to celebrate but must wear appropriate school shoes.

Reader Bags & Home Reading Journals

A reminder to make sure your child is bringing their reader bag to school each day. Inside should be a small reader book, take home journal, and M100 Word pouch. Students will be able to take a new reader book each day if the previous one has been returned. They also need to have their book bag to be able to borrow books from the Library.

Digital Technology Forms

We have started using our iPads this term. If you have not yet completed and returned your child’s permission form to school, please do so as soon as possible. Children will not be allowed to use the iPads until this is done.

Compass Permissions

Please ensure to follow the permission prompts on Compass. This includes walking permission, and permission to have your child’s photo taken and published in the newsletter or on social media. If you need assistance with this, please contact your child’s teacher.

Tissue Box Donations

As the weather is getting colder, we are finding classroom supplies of tissues are beginning to run low. We are kindly asking for families that are able to, to donate a box of tissues to replenish these supplies. Thank you.
