Wellbeing

Being on time to school makes a difference.
At Camelot Rise Primary school, we know that every morning sets the tone for a child’s day. Arriving at school on time is about much more than attendance, it plays an important role in a child’s wellbeing, confidence, and sense of belonging.
When children arrive on time, they have the opportunity to settle into the classroom, connect with their teacher, greet their friends, and prepare for the day ahead. This calm and positive start helps children feel safe, organised, and ready to learn.
Children who arrive late can sometimes feel rushed, anxious, or overwhelmed as they try
to catch up with what has already happened. Missing important morning routines, instructions, or social interactions can make it harder for them to feel connected and confident throughout the day.
Regular punctual attendance also helps children develop valuable life skills, including responsibility, time management, and resilience. These habits support their success both at school and beyond.
We understand that busy mornings and unexpected circumstances can occasionally make punctuality challenging. If your family is experiencing difficulties that impact school attendance or arrival times, please reach out to us. We are here to work together and provide support where needed.
Here are some simple ways to support a smooth start to the day:
- Prepare school bags, uniforms, and lunches the night before.
- Establish a consistent bedtime and morning routine.
- Allow extra time for unexpected delays.
- Aim to arrive at school a few minutes before the bell so children can settle in comfortably.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure every child begins their day feeling calm, connected, and ready to learn. Together, we can support positive wellbeing and create the best possible start for every student.
