European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI) 2024

Congratulations to Honey Raut (Year 12) on her selection to represent Australia in the fourth EGOI to be held later this year in the Netherlands.

Honey’s selection has been after an extensive program of training and assessment.    This has included attendance at the Australian Maths Trust’s 2023 High Performance Informatics School of Excellence at the Australian National University, Canberra, ACT from 8 December to 18 December 2023.  During this year, Honey has completed eleven hours of online exams over three days.

In terms of the EOGI itself, this is a momentous occasion as the AMT welcomes and celebrates its first ever team to compete at the event.

Honey will be competing from 21 – 27 July 2024. We wish her every success!

National Mathematics Summer School (NMSS) 2024

Congratulations to Riley Dexter, Aleksander Pacnik, and Helin Tarpis (all of Year 12) who attended this year’s NMSS held in Canberra in January.  The NMSS is a two-week residential mathematics school that takes place every year in January at the Australian National University. It has been enriching and broadening the mathematical minds of young Australians since 1969. It is the oldest and most prestigious summer school in Australia.

Riley, Aleksander and Helin have continued a long tradition of Uni High students attending this program.  Entries for next year’s program will be advertised during Term Three.
