WICKED THE MUSICAL -

VCE & Year 10 Theatre Excursion

On the evening of Thursday March 7, students of the VCE Theatre Studies and Year 10 Theatre classes rubbed shoulders with celebrities, walking the green carpet of the Regent Theatre, at the official opening night for WICKED THE MUSICAL.

Arriving to find the grand theatre foyer awash with glitz and glamour, the students of Uni High, many of whom had dressed to impress, looked at home among the sea of elegant green gowns and the occasional pink suit. The house was electric throughout the performance, and a perfect demonstration of the relationship between live theatre and its audience, and their impact on each other.

This production viewing forms an essential part of the units of work currently undertaken by each class, with students analysing the interpretation of the written script in the production, examining how acting, directing and design was used to create meaning. Students are now busily preparing for their written assessments, fuelled by the plethora of exciting analysis opportunities provided by the show.
