3/4 News

It has been a busy end to Term 1 for our 3/4's. Thank you to our students for an amazing Term 2, we look forward to seeing you after a restful break, ready for another action packed term!
NAPLAN
Grade 3's and 5's were treated with some hot chips for their resilience and efforts with NAPLAN. I think you can tell from their big smiles that students were very happy!
Maths
Last week, we discussed the different board games we have played with families & friends, and how the games include maths in various ways. Students were then able to have a go at creating their own board game. We invited the grade 2's to come for a visit and test out our creative maths games. Everyone was highly engaged and having lots of fun!
Writing
Our writing over the last couple of weeks has linked to our Inquiry topic. Students have been creating diary entries from the perspective of a convict and First Nation member. Within their diary entries students had to mention their artefact they had created. Students have also researched and written about a topic from our Inquiry unit that they wanted to learn more about. Some students decided they wanted to discover more about rock art, convicts, the first fleet and bush tucker.
Happiness Day
We had lots of fun on happiness day completing different activities in our house colours and then dancing away to some tunes at recess and lunch. 3/4's also created some emoji cookies in class, which was very delicious!
Easter Activities
Getting into the Easter spirit, students painted an Easter rabbit or chicken squishy to take home.
Library Visit
We had a great morning visiting our local library. Linda read us several books before we were able to make a turkey. Thanks Linda for a wonderful session.
Inquiry Showcase
We could not be more proud of our students this term and their amazing effort toward their Inquiry work. Our 'Community' topic with a 'First Contact' focus has allowed students to understand the history and culture behind our nation's community. Students were highly engaged and very proud to show off their artefacts, diary entries, dreamtime stories and research projects. Well done 3/4's!!
Reminders...
Please don't forget school photo forms which will take place the first Wednesday back at school. Also, we still have some outstanding forms (sent home in a white envelope) that are required to be returned to school asap. These forms include permission for your child to walk locally for excursions, to use their own device (if applicable), and to update contact and medical details.
Have a wonderful Easter and we hope you can enjoy some slower mornings over the school holiday break. See you next term!
