Year 9 & 10 Design & Technology

On Monday the 8th April our Year 9 & 10 Design and Technology students competed in The Science & Engineering Challenge.

The Challenge is a day-long competition designed to provide the students with a positive experience of science and engineering.

Eight schools competed against each other on the day.

In their teams, students were awarded points for various activities including Building a Bridge, Wind Turbine, Flight, Helter Skelter Shelter, Fish Traps, ElectraCity, Job Juggle and Confounding Communications.

At the end of the day, the school with the most cumulative points is declared the winner.

Kildare emerged victorious in this year's Building a Bridge Challenge. Excellent structural design work was completed by Logan Haydon and Ben Mears. Archer Laurent and Carson Clout. Excellent work!

Kildare finished fifth in the challenge as a whole.

Bravo to all of our students who took part in the day's activities, pushing themselves, learning how to solve problems and communicate effectively, and fostering excellent teamwork. They all performed incredibly well!
