Careers

Welcome back to Term 2.

I can not stress enough how important it is that all students have joined their relevant year groups Careers Classroom. Although this has been advertised extensively all year, there are still students missing out on opportunities as they have not joined the Classroom. Please see below for codes for all Classrooms.

See Classroom for details and to register

The following appeared in the Year 10 Classroom this week

All the paperwork for Work Experience has now been updated.

Please read the Pre Placement Pack Cover Sheet document carefully. There is no need to print this as it will be in your Pre Placement Pack.

Once you are ready to organise some Work Experience, you need to come and get a Pre Placement Pack from the bookcase outside my office (they will be available from Wednesday of Term 2 Week 1). It will have the following documents in it

  • Pre Placement Pack Cover Sheet
  • Student Placement Record (SPR)
  • Workplace Learning Guide for Employers
  • Work Placement Visit Report

It is essential that you do not staple or crease any of the documents as I need to be able to scan them for your placement to be approved.

Once everything has been filled in, make an appointment to come and see me to hand the Pre Placement Pack in.

Don't forget that I need all your documents at least 2 weeks before your placement. If your placement involves any of  the following there will be extra forms to fill out and I will need all of the paperwork at least 4 weeks before your placement

  • Living away from home during your placement
  • Involve working with animals, mining or work in an abattoir

If you have not watched the video I suggest you do so now

I created The Tertiary Toolbox video series to support students and parents in navigating the often complex journey of investigating and applying to tertiary education. Through short (usually under 5 minutes) video content, The Tertiary Toolbox series endeavours to shed light on different academic pathways and program options, to demystify the intricacies of the application process, and provide guidance on navigating challenges such as financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

I have linked the Videos that have already been uploaded. As new content is recorded, the links will be added
