Updates:

Paid Union Meetings:

We are closing school early - 12:30 pm -  on Thursday 28 March. All teachers will be attending a Paid Union Meeting in west Auckland on that afternoon.

We know this will be inconvenient for families, and we do apologise for the disruption.

Western Heights children love a good wero/challenge, and a reading challenge is even better!

Each student in our kura/school has a Hell's Pizza wheel which records when they have read seven books.

Once they achieve this challenge, they can redeem their pizza wheel at Hell's Pizza for a free 333 kids pizza.

More Messages From Concerned Local Persons:

Recently I was on a pretty important phone call when calls started coming in from an unknown number. The persistent person was incredibly irate at the lack of parking at Palomino Shops due to parents in those car parks waiting for their children to finish school.

I tried to explain that this is not an area I manage or am responsible for and that we do all we can to keep traffic flowing, encourage parents to park on the local roads, etc. More than half an hour later, he finished his complaints, and I promised I would raise his concerns in this newsletter.

I receive emails and phone calls about this quite regularly, and some are pretty unpleasant and some get very angry with me for not fixing this problem.

Please try to minimise your use of the Palomino car parks—unless you are shopping there. I know it is a tricky problem, and we are building extra car parks to go with our four new classrooms, so that will help. Until that happens, we actually have fewer car parks on site here as we had to give up quite a few for construction access, temporary construction offices, etc.

Your support and understanding is always appreciated.
