Music

The music department has purchased 3 new clarinets for the school band. The clarinet has been a popular instrument, and this purchase will ensure students get to learn on and play great sounding and top-quality instruments. The school band is often looking to expand and improve its instrument collection. Last year 3 new flutes were purchased, and we will be looking to add a saxophone or two to the collection this year or next. Donations are always welcome.

Energy in our World

Students in Energy in our World have been exploring how the invisible forces of magnets can be harnessed to power the world around us. Erin Angelini has been engaging her students with hands-on experiments, including this one that explored the science behind the spinning motion of electric motors.

Cooking

Comfort food and amazing smells were dominant themes in the kitchen last week. Seems like a Cooking for Two versus Food for Life showdown, with Chocolate Brownies and Focaccia Bread being made by students in the different electives.
