Uniform

With the weather turning to Autumn, it’s time to start thinking about warmer uniform items, such as jackets and polar fleeces. All these uniform items are available at the Mount Beauty Hardware and Drapery, but if you need a less common size, you may need to order in advance. We do have some stock of pre-loved items at school - please contact the Office to enquire about these items.

MYLNS and TLI

Since COVID, the Department has implemented 2 support initiatives for students in schools. The Middle Years Literacy and Numeracy Support (MYLNS), now targeted at Year 10s; and the Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI) targeting Years 7-9 have been running since the start of term. While many schools have had to use these teachers, and this time, to cover classes since they were introduced, we have made sure that this extra teaching time for students has remained dedicated to being able to support a variety of our students. Due to the non-invasive way these supports are implemented at our school, especially the TLI, many students will be unaware that they are accessing it. We believe this is the best way to implement these programs, ensuring that as many students as possible are able to gain support in classes.

School Council Meeting

Wednesday, 20th March is the first meeting of the new school council. Held in Room 9, this meeting will start a little later than usual, due to being the first meeting where we need to hold a special council meeting first. The special council meeting will run from 6 – 6.15pm, with the school council meeting starting at 6.15pm. School community members are welcome to attend.

School Council Elections

Thanks to those people that have voted in the School Council elections so far. In an unusual turn of events, we have to vote for all 3 categories this year; the first time that I can remember. Please make sure you get your ballot form in by 4pm - Monday 18th March.

School Council election process timeline:

Ballot papers can be returned to the Office, or emailed to the school by 4pm, Monday 18th March.

Once voting has closed, counting will begin, then all nominees will be informed of the outcome before it is announced to the rest of the school community; just in time for the first school council meeting next Wednesday.
