Year 5 Excursion to ‘Dog Man The Musical’
As part of the Performing Arts program, last Tuesday 12 March, all of Year 5 attended Glen Street Theatre, Belrose to see ‘Dog Man The Musical’. It was a wonderful experience that provided the students with the opportunity to experience a theatre production and see how Dance, Drama and Music come together on stage to communicate a story for an audience. The aim of the excursion was to support the students in their current study of ‘Musical Theatre’ in their Performing Arts lessons as they work towards their performance for the Junior Performing Arts Evening.
We are so proud of the students in their representation of Pittwater House, who were respectful audience for the duration of the show. A huge thank you to Ms Leong, Ms Saxby and Ms Wenman for escorting the students on this excursion.
Date for Term 2 Diary: Junior Performing Arts Evening – Thursday 20 June 2024, 5.30pm
All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will perform an item on the night. Please keep an eye out for costume information later this term.
On Thursday 14 March, Tessa Beard (Class of 2022), returned to the School to give an inspirational talk to our current Year 12 Drama students. Tessa, who received an excellent result in her Higher School Certificate Drama projects in 2022, both for her Group Devised Piece and for her Individual project; Critical Analysis portfolio, was keen to offer advice to Year 12 Drama students as they currently embark on developing their own Individual Projects for their Drama Higher School Certificate this year. Students will also begin working in groups on their Group Devised Piece in Term 2, so this was a valuable time for our students to receive such insightful knowledge. The Year 12 Drama class would like to thank Tessa for coming in and sharing her insightful words and knowledge.
