SELAMAT HARI PASKAH
Indonesian students ended the term researching and talking about how Indonesians celebrate Easter. They learnt about who, why and how Indonesians celebrate Easter and compared it to how we celebrate Easter here, putting the information in Venn diagrams. They then worked in small groups to discuss their findings and present it in Indonesian including asking and answering questions about Easter celebrations in Indonesian. Some students also recorded their conversations.
Year 7 students also learnt to talk about themselves, their likes, and hobbies. They then recorded themselves speaking in Indonesian, with good pronunciation and fluency.
“I was amazed to see how similar to us Indonesians celebrate Easter”, Katty P, Y7.
“I learnt how Indonesian Christians celebrate Easter; by going to church and having meals with their family and friends ”, Indyanna S, Y7.
“It was fun researching on Easter celebrations here and in Indonesia. We are different yet similar in celebrations”, Alli S, Y7 .
