Term 1 has been burning hot for years 7 this term. They have been busy getting to know the science lab and Bunsen burners. They have been busy conducting various experiments using the Bunsen burner which resulted in them sitting a Bunsen burner license test. Watch out world our year 7s have their Bunsen burners licenses! 

 

Year 8 have been working on the electricity CAT during class while the year 9s have been finishing off their CATs in light. Year 10 evolution of life classes have been extracting DNA from strawberries and kiwi fruit.  The year 10 science investigation classes are continuing to water test various sections of the Dandenong Creek. The year 11 biology class has been exploring the topic of osmosis and diffusion using eggs without there shells. The year 11 chemistry have been reacting metals with acid and precipitation reactions. 

 

On Thursday 21st March, the year 12 biology classes went to KIOSC to manipulate DNA and perform gel electrophoresis. Open night was a night full of experiments for the Science department. We want thank the following students for helping to make Science an exciting classroom to be in. We are looking forward to the Easter Bunny arriving during the school break.
