Forest Edge Camp

Forest Edge Camp sought to have every student challenge themselves and have opportunities to cooperate and communicate to achieve positive outcomes for individuals and the group. The camp served as means to expand one’s paradigm.

Pamper Pole

Perhaps one of the most challenging activities at Forest Edge Camp, the Pamper Pole involved boys climbing to the top of a tall pole and then jumping off to touch a suspended ball or target. It’s a true test of courage and mental fortitude and I was most impressed with the boys having a go.

By the boys participating in activities such as zip lining, tackling the pamper pole, embarking on nature walks, and mastering rock climbing and abseiling they appeared to enjoy themselves but also to expand their paradigms, developing skills and attitudes that will benefit them long after they leave the camp. The boys were a delight and I was most impressed by their care of one another, their desire to do what is right and positive outlook.

E-Safety

Navigating the digital world safely is crucial for 10–12 year-olds, as they begin to explore the internet more independently. E-safety education is essential at this age to help children understand the risks of sharing personal information, the importance of privacy settings, and how to recognize and deal with cyberbullying. Parental involvement plays a pivotal role in guiding and monitoring their online activities. By maintaining open communication, setting clear online usage rules, and using parental controls, parents can help their children enjoy the benefits of the internet while safeguarding them from its potential dangers. Together, through awareness and active participation, we can create a safer digital environment for our young ones. The Raising Children Network may offer helping hints for parents.

Da Vinci Decathlon

Year 5 & 6

The Da Vinci Decathlon is an academic competition designed to challenge and stimulate the minds of school students. Students compete in teams of eight across 10 disciplines: engineering, mathematics and chess, code breaking, art and poetry, science, English, ideation, creative producers, cartography and legacy. Trinity once again sent a Year 5 and a Year 6 to the 2024 DaVinci Decathlon. It was an exciting day, full of creative ideas and wonderful collaboration. Whilst both teams had strong teams the Years 5’s came first in Engineering and Third in science. A fantastic achievement.
