School Council Update

Last Monday night we held the Miners Rest Primary School, School Council Annual General Meeting (AGM). It was a very successful meeting, and it was great to reflect on the previous year and make plans for School Council to continue to support the governance and operations of our great school for 2024.

At the AGM, we welcomed new parent member Ruby Dawson and said farewell and thank you to parent member Michelle Bruty and teacher member Holly Scanlon. We also welcomed Miners Rest Primary School Business Manager Amanda Simpson to School Council in the role of Secretariat.

All School Council executive positions were declared vacant and elected to again for 2024. We are pleased to announce that Larna Woodyatt was re-elected unopposed to the role of School Council President and Alice Middlemiss was also re-elected unopposed to role of Vice President. Both Larna and Alice are pleased and proud to represent the School and School Council in these roles and are very grateful to all School Council members for their ongoing contribution to Miners Rest Primary School. Below you will find a brief introduction to all school council members. Please familiarise yourself with our members and reach out to anyone at any time if you have any questions regarding School Council.

Following our AGM, we held our general meeting where many important matters were discussed, including learning about and discussing the government mandated Child Safety Standards that all schools must comply with. Child Safety is of utmost importance to everyone at Miners Rest K-6, and School Council is committed to contributing all that is required to ensure all children feel safe and are safe at school every day.
