Touch Tournament: 

All good things must come to an end. After six years as undefeated West Auckland Zone Champions, we finally decided to give a different school a turn with the trophy.

Our children played well and had great systems and structures—thanks to great coaching—but they lacked a little speed and a little luck. In the boys'  first game, they lost to the eventual champions by one score, but they missed out on making the first two scores of the game because our team couldn't see where the goal line was. That led to better field marking from then on, and we didn't miss any scores from then on. Our children accepted their loss and we will come back with renewed desire next year.

Our girls also went close. They showed teamwork, flair and determination - and also exceptional sportsmanship. If an opponent dropped the ball they would offer words of support and encouragement - that is really something to be proud of.
